George Kochel
MARKETING MANAGER


George Kochel joined the Baseload Power team in 2014 as the Sales and Marketing Manager responsible for developing and maintaining clients. George travels to job sites and works with customers to assure their understanding of the maintenance needs of their generators. He worked for Brush Turbo generators for 19 years, serving as Regional Manager/Proposal Coordinator where he developed and submitted proposals for the repair/and or overhaul of Brush Electrical Machines, Ltd. Generators. His office served the U.S., Canada, Central and South America as well as the Caribbean. He also coordinated service engineer’s project assignments, schedule, arranged shipping of equipment to and from sites. George earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Mississippi State University.

Brett Montgomery

Customer Account Manager


Brett, a native Texan, joined the Baseload Power team in June 2019 as the Customer Account Manager. He is responsible for defining, developing, negotiating, and managing Baseload Power customer business relationships. Brett also has experience in project managing field service projects to ensure contractual obligations are fulfilled. Brett has over 25 years of sales and account manager experience in the business aviation and broadcast media fields. Brett earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Texas State University.  He enjoys spending time with family and friends and is an avid golfer.

John Alcorn

Turbine Services Manager


John Alcorn joined the Baseload Power Team January 2018 as the Turbine Services Manager.  John has 18 years of experience in the power generation industry specializing in Pratt & Whitney Aeroderivative gas turbine maintenance and Brush generators. He worked as the FT-8 Project Manager at ProEnergy Services and Aeroderivative Program Manager at PIC Group.  Experience includes work as a Factory Automation Expert for 18 years with Michelin Tire N.A., Union Carbide and AMP-Akzo Nobel. John started his career in the US Navy in 1984 as a Nuclear Reactor Operator on board USS South Carolina (CGN-37) and honorably discharged after 6 years. He is a Certified Maintenance Reliability Professional by SMRP, Six Sigma Green Belt and NCCER Certified Master Trainer.

Julie Heck

Director of Field Services


Julie Heck joined the Baseload Power Team in August 2015 as an Electrical Engineer.  Julie has 11 years of experience in the power, oil and gas, and mining industries.  She brings expertise on generators, particularly Brush generators.  Prior to joining Baseload Power, Julie was a Facilities Engineer at Chevron in Bakersfield, CA.  She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Montana Tech of the University of Montana in May of 2011.  As a native of Montana, Julie enjoys exploring the outdoors, hiking, and snowboarding.  Julie and her husband, Robert, also enjoy Harley rides and spending time with family and friends. 

Richard Lowrance
MANAGING DIRECTOR


Richard, a native Texan, served in the United States Marine Corps to begin his career in the turbine and generator field. As an aircraft mechanic on the CH-53E Super Stallion helicopter, he developed the skills to work on jet engines completing his syllabus for the FAA Air frames & Powerplant rating. After working in field service for GE through Granite Services on LM2500, LM6000, LM5000 & the LMS-100, he took a position in the Installation and Commissioning side as a Mechanical Technical Advisor. After completing his first assignment in Israel, he was assigned to the initial LMS-100 installations post Groton South Dakota. After completing a number of installations including the quickest from set to first fire, he took a position with Brush Electric Machines. Richard was a mechanical field service engineer for Brush working globally and supervising as well as performing many different activities from a stator rewind in Canada to a package conversion in Colombia and many more. With his vast knowledge of power plants from intake to generation to include BOP, Richard decided to go into business with Robert Walshe and create Baseload Power. His idea was simple….to provide a quality service with quality parts in a safe and expedient manner to his customers while providing a quality lifestyle to those who would one day be Baseload Power employees. To this day, the Lord has blessed Baseload Power and the families who support it. Richard lives in South Texas with his wife and together they have six children and four grandchildren. He enjoys the great outdoors, hunting and fishing with family and friends.

Jay McClaugherty, Jr.
DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS

Jay, a native Texan, joined the Baseload Power Team January 2019 as the Director of Field Services.  Jay has 16 years of experience in the power generation industry specializing in the management of complex customer-related, technical projects.  He brings expertise in GE LM series industrial gas turbines as well as the plants in which they operate in worldwide.  He was employed for 8 years as the Managing Director of IGT Field Service USA with MTU Maintenance Berlin-Brandenburg GmbH where he managed and operated all aspects of the stand-alone shop/office facility in New Braunfels, Texas.  Prior, he worked as a Field Service Representative for 8 years with TransCanada Turbines, Inc., where he traveled to customer sites worldwide to perform inspections, repairs, maintenance and troubleshooting on gas turbines.  Jay has an Advanced Level of Secondary Education from King George V College in Southport, England and a General Certificate of Secondary Education from Kingswood College at Scarisbrick Hall in Southport, England. 

Robert Vandenabeele

Business Development Director


Bob joined the Baseload Power team July 2019 as the Director of Business Development. Bob has over 45 years in the Power Industry with focus on the Turbine and Generator technologies. Bob spent 35 years with General Electric where he held various positions including Production Control, Commercial Operations and Service Center Manager. He spent the last several years as a Senior Sales Manager for Generator Service and Repair. Bob lives in North Florida with his wife Amanda and enjoys golf, tennis and spending time with his children and two grandsons.

Diane Lowrance
DIRECTOR OF ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES


Diane, a native Texan, earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and a Master of Arts Degree in Psychology from Texas A&M University Corpus Christi and is a Licensed Professional Counselor. She worked for the Behavioral Health Center of Nueces County for 24 years, serving as Chief Executive Officer the last twelve years. Diane served on Boards of various organizations and in leadership roles with the Texas Council of Community Centers Executive Directors Consortium and the Texas Council Risk Management Fund. She joined the Baseload Power team to oversee administrative services. She is a member of the Rotary Club of Corpus Christi and serves on the Board of Directors for Charlie’s Place Recovery Center. She was honored as a “Corpus Christi Under 40” Award Recipient and with the “Y Women in Careers Award” from the Corpus Christi YWCA. She is married to Richard and enjoys spending time with family and friends.
